Have you ever heard of Youtube tv? know a little about this novelty in the market.
Google did everything it could to make YouTube profitable: even with users watching a billion hours of videos a day, the service never made a profit. That’s where YouTube TV comes in, a pay-TV service in the US with some differences that we like to see in Brazil as well.
YouTube TV will cost $35 a month when it launches in the next few months. no minimum loyalty – you can cancel at any time.

There are forty channels, including American Open TV, Sports (ESPN, Fox Sports), News, Entertainment (FX, USA, Syfy), Kids (Disney Channel, Disney) XD), among other things. Additionally, the service includes the 28 original YouTube Red series.

Each subscription entitles you to six separate accounts with personalized content recommendations; and streaming can be done on up to three devices simultaneously. YouTube TV will be available for Android, iOS, Chromecast and the web. Initially, it won’t be compatible with devices like Apple TV, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but Google tells Engadget it will bring the service to more platforms.

One of the differentials of YouTube TV is the Cloud DVR: the user has unlimited storage space in the cloud to record live broadcasts of programs and then watch them via streaming on TV, smartphone or tablet. It will be possible to record more than one program at a time, and they will be available for nine months.
Another differential is customer service, which is generally non-existent in the US (and also in Brazil). ). Google promises excellence in this area, and the user can report it through the app – via chat or voice – if they encounter any problems. The company already has a good track record with services such as Google Fiber (1 gigabit per second of internet) and Project Fi (cellular phone provider).

And being a Google product, YouTube TV offers customization of search and content features. For example, the user can enter time travel and get a list of movies and series with that theme; or enter a program name to see all available episodes. There will also be suggestions based on your habits.
That’s all very cool, but this online cable TV pushes the boundaries of cable TV channels themselves. Some of them are unavailable because they don’t match Google: Notable absences include Discovery, Viacom (MTV, Nickelodeon), Turner (TNT, TBS), CNN and HBO.

Also, the user will not escape the commercials. In fact, Google itself will sell the ads that will appear on the service in addition to the channels themselves. It will be possible to skip commercials on videos recorded on the cloud DVR (if you fast-forward the video), but that’s about it.
The US TV streaming market is heating up. There are services like Sling TV, DirecTV Now and PlayStation Vue that you can use to stream live TV. and Hulu is expected to launch a competitor soon. There are rumors that Apple tried to enter this market, but failed.

In Brazil, on the other hand, we are far behind. Open channels like Globo and SBT offer free live streaming, but no recording capabilities; to watch old programs on Globo Play you have to pay R$ 14.20 per month. Pay TV channels offer streaming over the internet, but only if you have a subscription to a traditional operator; The exception is HBO Go, which costs R$34.90 per month.
